Gorst Valley Hops is working to reintroduce hops in Wisconsin.
About
Gorst Valley Hops was founded on the idea that Wisconsin farmers can provide high quality hops to Wisconsin brewers.
Charter Grower Program
GVH invites growers to become more engaged with the entire hops production operation; from plantation design to hops pellets.
Meet the Team
We have assembled a team with decades of experience in production horticulture, engineering, plant physiology, equipment design, and environmental science.
History of Wisconsin Hops
Commercially produced hops were first introduced into Waukesha county around 1837, most likely by farm hands from New York who brought their root stock with them.

Workshops
Gorst Valley Hops is dedicated to providing the highest quality education and training.
Processing
Expert, patient processing is critical to high quality hops, whole or pellets. Each step requires diligence to ensure only the absolute best quality is produced. It begins with proper drying.
Production
Hops can be commercially grown on as little as one acre. But before one plows up the side yard there are few things that need to be known about hop production.
Sales
All hops are pelletized (T90) and gas-flush vacuum sealed in oxygen barrier bags. Processed hops remain frozen until purchased.
Brewer Portal
Every brewer knows that hops contain both bittering and aroma characteristics. What brewers may not be aware of is that the chemical compounds that compose these attributes are very delicate. |
